[Last Uniform] - Where's Volume 3?

Post by Richard J. »

Like with First Love Sisters, this title has been TBA for a long time. It's getting toward a year since the second volume was released. Any chance we'll see it come out this year?

Last Uniform is currently on hold right now, it's not cancelled.

As for "Akatsuki-iro no Senpuku Majo," we don't have the license for that series.

No Need to get fumed up

Yeah, it is rather dissappointing that might not get to see the series we want to come into completion, but like what was said earlier -
I just hope that some scanlation group will pick it up, since I really want to know how the story ends.
we can just try and rely on the amateurs. though it will not be of the same good quality, it will at least give us a chance to see how things go for the girls in the story.
(For one, I hope Fuuka replies to Ai within 2-3 chapters.)

But we ALL truly wish that Seven Seas would decide to continue with these series and see how many people end up buying the series (in whole).
Though it may not be too impressive at first, give it a little time and then you might just see more people catching on. (Time to pass the word on fellow fans).

Pardon the thread necromancy, but I seem to recall having looked at the Seven Seas page about The Last Uniform way back when and having seen an estimated release date of August 2008. Yes, that has already passed and yes, the page now says TBA--I just thought these would be a couple of useful tidbits of information.

That being said, I really hope that things pick back up with The Last Uniform. It was one of my favorites. :saaad:

Yes, that would definitely be like a breath of fresh air for the many of us who enjoy The Last Uniform. But unless there is some way to show our support for this project, little can be done about sevensea's decision on abandoning it. (I had some of my own ideas on how we [the fans] could save these projects, but I'm not too sure that anyone would go with it.) Even if we showed our support, would it even matter to the company?

Some companies...

Post by True Keyblade Master »

Some companies are too timid to take the last step when the end is in sight. Though, granted there might be some complications having to do with consumers' spending vs. costs on publishing, but nonetheless, we are more than a network of individuals with common likes. We are devoted fans, whether to one series or another. And because we are there to purchase the books as they come out, we should be worth a few risks.

Hm, I'm not following this (or anything else that Seven Seas has licensed besides HxB, come to think of it), but it is worrisome when smaller publishers run into the ol' consumer-production balancing act and may have to stop series, especially when the majority of your holdings are quite fringe and marketing is incredibly tough and expensive. I don't know how that could change.

It makes me wonder if there are cheaper "print on demand" or even legal digital file options. For example, everyone knows you can download music illegally, but plenty of people opt for iTunes or Amazon mp3 or whatnot. Sure, we might be able to rely on scanlations, but fan groups are awfully flakey for projects that aren't as popular, or the translation quality is icky. I wonder who would be willing to pay for a good, official translation in a printable quality PDF or something, for example. Hmmm.

This is bad. I don't really see the point for even starting publishing a manga, when their not going to finish it. At least not when it's only 1 or 2 volumes left. I had planed to buy Hyate x Blade, but I've changed my mind, looking at many other mangas Seven seas have published, I bet they'll cancle or "hold on" soon -____-

Reposted from AnimeonDVD's forums:

The Last Uniform hasn't sold all that well (maybe it's because the art style?), but we'd like to find some way to put out the third volume at some point. Now just isn't that time, though, considering how low bookstore orders are and sales have been across the board as of late.
