@karpeth: I think this is the topic to discuss it...

Re: The Travelling Forumite
I haven't traveled too greatly, compared to many of you. I've spent the majority of my years living between Philadelphia Pennsylvania and Tampa Florida here in the USA. I've visited Maine, and once more or less made a flight to St. Cloud Minnesota purely because I was bored and I had a slight surpluss of money as a then internet friend invited me to come.
Only been out of the country once, and that's when I went to Toronto. During January of all months... but you know what? I LOVE Toronto! Such a beautiful city, very nice people. Plus, I went to the hockey hall of fame right after the Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup so I got to see a display of their stuff put up in the hall. Played the silly foam goalie game on All Star level... and managed to stop 4 out of 5 shots!
I'd love to visit Munchen, Fen's experience aside. It's where much of my family came from in Germany, so I'd really like to get to understand a bit more of my heritage.

Re: The Travelling Forumite
I've been living in the UAE since i was born. During the summers i'd occasionally visit India. Pune, bombay, Goa, a few other places.
My family once went to America and stayed a while, i think my parents were thinking of migrating permenantly but changed their minds.
I dont remember much about that though. i was very young.
Its in my nature, iam a travelling soul. the net and my imagination have been a substitute which helps sate my soul. But its only a temporary solution. I intend to travel all over the world.

Re: The Travelling Forumite
hmmm... lets see...
i suppose i am quite average as far as travelling about goes... when i was thirteen, i went on a tour around Europe with my english class... we visited lots of countries, i believe the correct order was:
Italy, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Monaco, San Marino
almost a decade later, we went on another tour, Europe once more... this time our path went a bit more like this (again, only listing countries once):
Italy, Austria, Germany, Luxemburg, Belgium, France, England
i have also been to Bulgaria (on personal business) and Romania (meeting online friends) which was pretty fun, cause the cost of living in either country is quite low compared to here (15 euros to feed 6 very hungry people)

Re: The Travelling Forumite
I need to travel more. I want to see the world but the problem is it just costs so damned much to stay anywhere, sometimes its just not worth it.
Most of my traveling was as a kid, or through my school. My primary school used to do a Holland trip that did the whole Amterdamn, Anne Franks house, and the tulip feilds and delft pottery works etc. That was fun as where we stayed there was kinda of a YMCA that had something of a petting zoo attached to it with Lama and wallabies running about in a big feild. We used to wind each other up as thre was a meat that none of us could identify for dinner most nights, and we used to say 'is one of the Lama missing?'
Through my highschool we did France... the typical Paris and other areas bit. That was good as we caught our french teacher drinking even though he wasn't meant to, so he smuggled my room down some beers
As a kid my parents took me to Spain for the typical british package holidays to the Spanish islands. I don't remember much from them other then we went to the beach alot. I never really cared much for beachs.
Otherwise its been travels all over England, Wales on camping trips through the various evolutions of tent to trailer tent to caravan. I'd not recomend scotland to anyone. I spent the worse three days of my life there once, its no-where near as good as people claim it to be.
I really want to at some point go to Egypt and see the pyramids and Abu Simbal etc. I've always loved Egyptian history. Similarly, I want to go to Italy and see Venice and Rome for the same reasons.

Re: The Travelling Forumite
My mom has friends all over the world and she always stays at their places XD (And her friends are always staying at my place too! We have a big house )And if not, she stays in really fancy hotels because her work takes her all over latin america.Bear wrote:I need to travel more. Anyways, I have, most naturally, been around Peru a lot. Most of the coast and the highlands but never to the jungle (the lower part, the higher part I've been to about twice) though I definately want to sometime. I believe in knowing yur country first
Just like T2B, I invite you to visit Peru You can fly to Uruguay and visit Teach and then hop to Peru and visit me
Outside Peru... I've been to Buenos Aires and Bariloche (Argentina), Victoria (Canada) and four times to the US: spent three months in Seattle, one in Los Angeles, been to Miami ( ) and New York ( ) for vacations

I've been to a few places in Canada but outside of the country I've been to Mexico at least 5 or more times and a couple of times to Disneyland.

Re: The Travelling Forumite
they...they
THEY CANCELLED MY PLANE BACK HOME O.O
they did mention something of a free rebooking, but the other planes are like 140 euro more expensive. I doubt they'd pay the difference=(.
AAH.
I am SO gonna miss school that week.
"yeah i was stuck in Amsterdam" "were you stoned out of your mind?" "well, I was stoned out of an airport."
