Re: Dance in the Vampire Bund Gaiden: Dive in the Vampire Bu
No comment? That’s just not fair. You can at least tell us if it’s a “no comment” or a “can’t comment” can’t you? My real question is, will this take issue ten’s spot in the release schedule or will this be released along with issue ten (all supplemental like). Or should the question be IS this issue ten?
Amazon has the same thing slated for March 29 2011. Dance in the Vampire Bund Gaiden: Dive in the Vampire Bund. One hundred and ninety-two pages (the same length of a regular volume) and it appears to fall directly in line with the rough release schedule we’ve seen thus far. It looks like volume eight will release late September (this month), nine will release in December (around three months later), and this “Gaiden” issue will show up in March 2011 (about three months after nine) The publisher is none other than Seven Seas Entertainment. Preorder for $7.41 if anyone is interested. What I do NOT see is issue ten’s release date. Normally it would be on there as well.
So the “coincidental” three month release schedule made me ask the above question. I don’t think it is actually issue ten. Gaiden, after all, roughly translates as “side story”. But I’m still curiouser than Alice as to if issue ten will be released in March along with this “Gaiden” issue.

Take care when fighting monsters, that in the process you do not become a monster yourself. For when you gaze long into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

This page explains the differences a little. It's basically a side story that occurs withing the time frame of the main manga story.

Book 10 isn't out in Japan yet.Windallion wrote: What I do NOT see is issue ten’s release date. Normally it would be on there as well.
Once we put out volume 9 (which goes to the printer next week), Seven Seas will have caught up with the Japanese release.
As for Dive, it is indeed a side story that explorers the Bund and its people in much greater detail. Akira, Mina, Alphonse, Jiji, and Beowulf all appear as do several familiar faces from the early volumes. So it's definitely part of the series canon.
As for my no comment... well, we just haven't "officially" announced it yet.
