It is important to draw wisdom from different places. If you take it from only one place it become rigid and stale. ~Iroh
You can't make an omelette without ruthlessly crushing dozens of eggs beneath your steel boot and then publicly disemboweling the chickens that laid them as a warning to others. ~Tarquin
The skin stretched and tanned, the striped suit sown into the flesh itself, the killer donned a new body, giggling to no one, "Wears Waldo."

Why does a beam cannon need a rifled barrel?
Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

Re: Avatar: The Legend of Korra
its probably a design artifact from creating first-of-its-kind advanced tech. They dont realize they dont have to do it, but they do it cause thats how its been done for them since this is the first time they've made something like this. Usually happens which big steps forward. over time it gets phased out as improvements are made to an invention.
This tech could have powered the whole of the earth kingdoms with just one or a few generators, could have made it match liberty city in time. but nope. super weapon. the decision of tyrants.
i like how she WAS infact affected by the decision she made and we actually see her bury her emotions and humanity beneath her stoicism as a leader again.

Re: Avatar: The Legend of Korra
I hope I'm not making a mistake admitting this, but I didn't like the series finale as much as I wanted to. Having Korrasami become so blatant just made me feel very strange. I'll freely admit it is probably because I am straight and have never been able to identify with same sex relationships like that. On the other hand the lack of development of them as anything more than friends just made it feel more like they were trying to make a statement than a relationship. Korra had never had a female peer as a friend before so I kind of wish it had stayed that way.
And yes I realize nothing was actually said about it being romantic, but if that last scene had been Korra and Mako it would have been hard to see it as anything but romantic. If the story continues in future comics and Korra remains unattached I also fear backlash from fans on all sides for "pandering" without intending to do anything with the relationship.
That said, there are still tons of pairings and more importantly story elements that I love for the avatar series, so I'm just going to need to get over my feelings about this part.
I kind of wish the spirits had helped out in some way too rather than only coming back when the fighting was all over with.
Still, from an unbiased perspective I can say it was a great finale with some amazing battles and a lot of heart. Not as good as the finale of Avatar the Last Airbender, but I don't think anybody really expected it to be.
If nothing else it feels good to get that off my chest.

Re: Avatar: The Legend of Korra
great finale.
yeah, it's looking pretty unlikely that we're gonna get another show, what with nick repeatedly fucking them over so damn hard.
imagine how awesome it would've been to keep going & get an avatar from each of the four nations, with the world evolving and changing each time.
